In-Home Occupational Therapy visits for your child

Silver Porcupine’s Occupational Therapists can visit your child in your own home, providing an individualistic approach to their therapy.

Our team will also provide advice to yourself and your family so you can continue to support your child between their therapy sessions.

OT sessions within your child’s school or daycare centre

SPOTS provides support to children and their parents to help make their school a more relaxed and enjoyable place to be. Our mobile occupational therapists will work alongside your child’s teachers and supervisors to help them develop their social and educational skills.

Telehealth Occupational Therapy Calls

Silver Porcupine can also provide virtual therapy sessions. For days when state restrictions or important commitments prevent your child from attending a session, our OTs can provide Telehealth calls to ensure your child continues to meet their therapy goals.

How can Occupational Therapy help my child?

Occupational therapy is recommended for children, teens and young adults who experience difficulty completing everyday activities.

Our experienced OTs can assist with the following (but not limited to):

Self-care: dressing, bathing, toileting, eating and doing chores.

Play and Leisure: playing alone or with others and participating in leisure/sport activities.

School: tasks involved with learning environments such as concentrating, following instructions and handwriting and typing skills.

Occupational Therapy Funding Options

SPOTS is able to provide therapy under a number of funding packages:

NDIS

We are a registered NDIS provider and can support children who have an NDIS plan.

Medicare

Medicare rebates are also available based upon eligibility. Please note that you will incur a gap fee.

Private Billing

For those not covered by the NDIS, SPOTS can provide private OT sessions for children. If you have private health insurance you may be covered for Occupational Therapy services. We recommend getting in touch with your insurer to check if you’re entitled to rebates.
